Braided Ways is a regenerative development practice and studio for socioecological regeneration by Avery Hardy.
It is time for humanity to develop the capability to regenerate life on Planet Earth. My practice works directly with individuals, communities, and organizations around the world to grow their ability to nourish the aliveness of place. Together, we are growing deeper understanding of our interconnectivity with the socioecological systems around us: watersheds, local economies, cultures and cosmologies, ecosystems, and beyond. It is my container to gather, teach, share, and connect—all of which is in service of greeting both the urgency and opportunity of our times.
Drawn from the rich lineage of regenerative development, I utilize a holistic, integrated methodology to produce rigorous and durable regenerative outcomes.
Heirloom corn varietals from across Northern New Mexico reflect the diversity of traditional landraces highly adapted to these high desert conditions.
Working with regenerative practitioners in Catalonia, Spain, in 2024, where a developmental community in La Garrotxa is growing a regenerative, cooperative “social solidarity” economy to more effectively steward systems of governance and natural resource management.
Working with students of regenerative practices to grow their capabilities to “think in systems” at a rewilding estate in Devon, England in 2024.
Through integrating the patterns of nature, the unique wisdom of place, and systems theory, we have the power to create transformative regenerative processes anywhere.
My practice draws from both scientific inquiry into the nature of living systems and traditional wisdom-keepers including indigenous elders and traditional custodians, farmers, and ranchers.
Rooted in the rich high desert culture of Santa Fe, I work with individuals, communities, and institutions around the world.
